Tested before it travels
Every stone we sell is examined by an independent gemological laboratory in Sri Lanka. You receive the report with your gem and can verify it online.
Our partner laboratories
We work with three established laboratories. The report that ships with your stone names the laboratory that examined it, and each report can be checked on that laboratory's own website.

What a report confirms
Identity
Whether the stone is natural, and which species and variety it is.
Treatment
Whether the stone shows indications of heating or other treatment, or none at all.
Measurements
Weight in carats, dimensions, shape, cut and colour, with a photograph of the stone.

Is every stone tested?
Yes. No stone is listed in our shop before a laboratory has examined it and issued a report.
What does “heated” mean?
Heating is a traditional, permanent and widely accepted treatment that improves colour and clarity. Unheated stones are rarer and priced accordingly. Both are always labelled.
Why three laboratories?
We buy stones across Sri Lanka and use the established laboratory closest to where each stone was cut. All three are run by GIA-trained gemologists and offer online verification.
